Dr. Sunjay Suri

Orthodontist, BDS, MDS, MOrth RCS (Edinburgh), DNB, DIBO, FRCDC, FACD, FICD

Dr. Sunjay Suri has been providing orthodontic treatment to children, teens and adults since 1995. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada and is registered as a certified specialist in orthodontics with the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario. He also has an M Orth of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (UK) and is a Diplomate of the National Board of Examinations in orthodontics, New Delhi, Diplomate of the Indian Board of Orthodontics and a Fellow of the American College of Dentists and a Fellow of the International College of Dentists.

After graduating with the best graduate gold medal in his Bachelor of Dental Surgery studies in 1995, Dr. Suri completed his orthodontics education and training at the esteemed Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh, India in 1998 where he was the recipient of the Kataria Memorial Gold Medal, the most prestigious medal awarded to a postgraduate student selected from students from all branches of medicine and dentistry. He then completed advanced craniofacial orthodontic fellowship training at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, USA in 2000 and the clinical orthodontic fellowship at Canada’s renowned Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto, in 2001. In 2006, he accepted a faculty position at the University of Toronto and at The Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto. In 2015, he was appointed as the head of the Discipline of Orthodontics and graduate specialty program director of orthodontics. Dr. Suri is a tenured professor of orthodontics at the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Toronto and staff orthodontist at The Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto, where he has provided orthodontic treatment to children with severe malocclusions.

Dr. Suri has received numerous academic and clinical awards in his professional career, including the American Society of Association Executives’ prestigious Gold Circle Award for authoring the Best Scientific Article published by any professional association in North America, and the Dr. Prem Prakash Memorial Award for the Best Treated Case presented at the board certification examination to the Indian Board of Orthodontics.

Dr. Suri’s work has been published in internationally renowned scientific journals including the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, The Angle Orthodontist, Orthodontics and Craniofacial Research, the European Journal of Orthodontics, Journal of Orthodontics, Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Journal, Journal of Craniofacial Surgery and Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He also serves on the editorial review boards of several internationally reputed peer-reviewed journals.
